Women’s History Month is celebrated in march here in the United States and last year I took the opportunity on my YouTube channel to highlight some women in the world of music who either made an impact, dabbled in multiple areas of creativity or just plain old ROCKED IT during their era. I’ve always enjoyed discovering individuals I wouldn’t of never necessarily known about. Especially women, who lived during a time where they were doing something out of the norm or what society wanted them to conform to. Some of these artists like Suzi Quatro who I just happened to be having a conversation about music and needing to find some female artists when my friend Cyn tells me about Suzi. Granted, I didn’t know who Suzi was right off the bat it probably wasn’t until someone mentioned her on Happy Days that boom went the dynamite.

This year I was really hoping to highlight some other talented female musicians of the past such as Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey and Big Momma Thornton just to name a few but time really caught up with me. And while, I would love to extend this into the month of April, we’re participating in VEDA which is the idea of Vlogging Everyday In April or how I like to take it, make a dang video everyday in April which makes highlighting women a little tough. Plus I’ve been slacking on creating new content for my channel. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a backlog and if you’d like to contribute to the list feel free to leave a comment. And if you’re not already subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up to date with our crazy shenanigans.

Below you will find a playlist highlighting females such as Joni Mitchell, Suzi Quartro amongst others.
