Hey Guys! Hey Internet!

I’ve been really enjoying watching other creators painting over book covers with their own version I thought it might fun to join the craze by drawing Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix. I though it’d also be a cool opportunity to talk about all the books I read for pleasure and thoroughly enjoyed and you might as well.
The first one up is Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix. Think Ikea meets horror story. Let me just say, I will never think the same about Ikea-Esque stores again!

So, what’s the book about?

So essentially, something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken bookshelves, shattered items, and more. Sales are down, security cameras reveal nothing, and store managers are panicking.

To unravel the mystery, three employees “volunteer” to work a nine-hour dusk-till-dawn shift each with a reward in mind. Through the night, they patrol the empty showroom floor, investigate strange sights and sounds, and encounter horrors that defy their imagination.

Without giving away any spoilers! It’s a traditional haunted house story in a thoroughly contemporary setting – and it was absolutely GREAT! This book was quite a page-turner. And I couldn’t wait to read what happened next and did not disappoint.
I really enjoyed the premise behind this book, and I love how Grady Hendrix keeps you on your toes, and how nothing is ever what it seems. I’m a huge fan of the plot twists in his stories. I recently read The Southern’s Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, that he came out with this just this past year. (https://amzn.to/2OJuYiZ) and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
If you’re looking for a good horror book that keeps you on your toes from beginning to end with tons of twists check out, Horrorstör.
I give the book a rating of 3 out of 4 in the land horror! And as I already mentioned already I will NEVER see Ikea store’s the same way again.
If you’ve read the book YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN & definitely feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments, I always love a good conversation about a book. Also, I’m super eager for his next book that’s supposed to be coming out sometime in July called The Final Girl Support Group.
Until next time,  let me know what is a really great horror book that you’ve enjoyed recently and maybe we’ll read it and draw/review it!
 Hope you’re doing awesome,
Alethea/Inkeater
